Soldering Lab
Our first lab for Rob Faludi’s Fundamentals of Physical Computing was, appropriately enough, a soldering lab. I’ve done a little soldering before, always with barely-functional Radio Shack irons, but wouldn’t say I’ve come anywhere near mastering it. That said, I’m pretty happy with the early results.
I also took the opportunity to finally make an LED bar that I ripped out of a broken external hard drive into something I could actually use in a project. The tiny connector is a surface-mount component, luckily it was intact enough to connect a couple leads to.
For anyone who wants to try this at home, here’s the lab instructions.
